Privacy Policy
Birdie Pro is an AI-powered, SMS-based lesson-management assistant for golf teaching professionals and their students. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website and to the messaging and lesson-management service we provide on behalf of teaching professionals ("pros").
Throughout this policy, "Birdie Pro," "we," "us," and "our" refer to Birdie Mama LLC, which operates the Birdie Pro service.
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Pro account information. Details a teaching professional provides to set up and run their account, such as name, business name, email address, phone number, and service settings.
- Student contact information. A student's name and phone number, either entered by the pro or — for an adult student, or a parent or guardian acting on a minor student's behalf — provided over text message. For students under 13, the platform uses a parent or guardian's number and does not collect the child's own number.
- Message content and history. The text messages exchanged through the service, including booking requests, confirmations, reminders, and follow-ups, together with their timestamps and delivery status.
- Calendar availability. Lesson times and availability from a pro's connected calendar, used to schedule and reschedule lessons.
- Website usage. Basic, aggregate information about how visitors use this website (such as pages viewed), used to keep the site working and secure. This website does not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics.
How we use information
We use the information above to provide the lesson-management and messaging service — specifically to:
- schedule, reschedule, confirm, and remind students about lessons;
- send follow-ups and respond to booking and account questions;
- maintain each student's lesson history for the pro;
- operate, secure, support, and improve the service; and
- comply with our legal obligations.
We may also use information in de-identified or aggregated form — which does not identify you, any student, or any other individual — to operate, secure, and improve the service, including analytics, benchmarking, and improving our models.
We do not use this information to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell it. See How we share information for the limited circumstances in which information is shared.
SMS messaging & A2P 10DLC
Birdie Pro communicates with students by SMS text message on behalf of the teaching professional. The messages a student may receive include:
- lesson confirmations and reminders;
- scheduling and rescheduling messages;
- follow-ups after a lesson; and
- account and customer-care messages.
Frequency and rates
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Opting out and getting help
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP. For help, reply HELP or contact hello@birdiepro.ai.
Mobile information and SMS opt-in/consent data will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
SMS opt-in and consent data is not shared with any third parties except the messaging aggregators and service providers (such as Twilio) that deliver the messaging service on our behalf.
Data security
We protect information using industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and at rest and access controls that limit who can reach the data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so while we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Retention & your choices
We keep information for as long as it is needed to provide the service and to meet our legal obligations, then delete or de-identify it.
- Opt out of SMS. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages.
- Access and deletion. You can request access to, or deletion of, your personal information by contacting hello@birdiepro.ai.
- Pros can export their data, and a student's records are managed and deleted by the pro who holds the relationship with that student. If you are a student, contact your teaching professional, or reach us and we will help direct your request.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information under your state's privacy law, such as the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA) or the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (CCPA/CPRA). Where they apply to you, these rights may include:
These rights concern personal information for which Birdie Pro is the controller — such as pro account information and website-usage data. For information a pro submits about their students, Birdie Pro acts as the pro's processor; see Student information, below, for how those requests are handled.
- Access. To confirm whether we process your personal information and to obtain a copy of it.
- Correction. To correct inaccurate personal information.
- Deletion. To request deletion of your personal information. When we delete, we remove identifying information and message content; as permitted by law, we may retain de-identified lesson and business records, and a hashed record of a phone number on our opt-out suppression list (which contains no identifying information), so that an opt-out is not later overridden.
- Portability. To obtain your personal information in a portable, readily usable format.
- Opt out. To opt out of the sale of personal information, of targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising, and of certain profiling. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising or that kind of profiling, so there is nothing to opt out of in that respect today. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and provide the required opt-out method, including honoring recognized universal opt-out signals where the law requires.
- Non-discrimination. To not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights.
How to exercise your rights
Submit a request by emailing hello@birdiepro.ai. We will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before acting, and we will respond within the time your state's law requires — for example, within 45 days under the Colorado Privacy Act, with an extension where permitted. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf where the law allows.
Appeals
If we decline your request, you may appeal by emailing hello@birdiepro.ai with "Appeal" in the subject line. If you remain concerned about the outcome, you may contact your state attorney general — in Colorado, the Colorado Attorney General.
Student information
For personal information that a teaching professional submits about their students, the pro is the controller of that information and Birdie Pro acts as the pro's processor. If you are a student, or a parent or guardian of a minor student, and want to exercise a right, contact your teaching professional, or reach us at hello@birdiepro.ai and we will help direct your request to the right pro and assist as their processor.
Children's privacy
Birdie Pro is a business tool contracted by and operated for the adult teaching professional. The service is not directed to children for independent sign-up, and we do not knowingly enable children to create their own accounts. Where a pro teaches minors, the pro is responsible for the relationship with, and any necessary consent of, those students and their parents or guardians. If you believe a child has provided information to us directly, contact hello@birdiepro.ai and we will address it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
